Founded in 1954 with headquarters in Vienna, Austria they have grown to a global workforce of 170 employees. Their main business being dictation machines, this has now evolved to include digital recorders, PocketMemos and wireless dictation microphones. In 2014, Philips Dictation launched their cloud-based dictation solution, SpeechLive; prior to this they offered an ‘out of the box’ workflow solution, SpeechExec, which is still available.

Architecture & roadmap:
A key USP for Philips Dictation that is it is a constantly evolved cloud solution accessible from anywhere. SpeechLive utilises Microsoft 256Bit AES end-to-end encryption and has integrated speech recognition – with two options now available: Microsoft speech-to-text and Nuance DLA/DPA.
Integrations:
Philips Dictation has an Open API for SpeechLive, this allows for companies to integrate their existing document/case management systems with SpeechLive, for dictation and transcription workflow requirements.

To use SpeechLive you simply need to sign up and once your account has been set up, you’ll be granted access to the system.
Value for money:
There are 3 plans available dependant upon your requirements: Basic, Pro and Enterprise. Prices start from £10.90 per user, per month; speech recognition is an add-on (only available with Pro and Enterprise) Free trial of Microsoft speech-to-text and Nuance DLA/DPA is available.
